Dina fliegt am 27ten September von <em>Lima<\/em> aus nach Hause und wir m\u00fcssen unser Programm etwas straffen. \u00dcber die Panamericana Sur geht es weiter nach <em>Arequipa<\/em>, eine der beeindruckendsten Kolonialst\u00e4dte und mit rund 1,4 Mio Einwohnern zweitgr\u00f6\u00dfte Stadt Perus auf angenehmen 2.400 Metern. Die Flu\u00dfoase mit ihrer gut erhaltenen Altstadt rund um die <em>Plaza de Armas<\/em> liegt unmittelbar zu F\u00fc\u00dfen der m\u00e4chtigen Vulkane <em>Misti<\/em> (5.822 m und aktiv), <em>Chachani<\/em> (6.075 m und wei\u00df verschneit) und <em>Pichu Pichu<\/em> (5.425 m). Manche Zungen behaupten, die Bezeichnung \u201ewei\u00dfe Stadt\u201c beziehe sich nicht auf den wei\u00dfen Stein, sondern auf die Tatsache, das ehemals die Innenstadt ausschlie\u00dflich von den wei\u00dfen Kolonialherren bewohnt werden durfte, wohingegen die Sklaven, zumeist Indios und Schwarze, in den Randgebieten leben mussten. Kommt einem bekannt vor, oder?<\/p>\n<p>Heute ist der Durchgangsverkehr aus den schmalen Gassen des historischen Zentrums verbannt und es sind kleine Fu\u00dfg\u00e4ngerbereiche entstanden, die zum Bummeln und Verweilen einladen.
